A Swansea-based gallery taking their first steps in ICT have improved efficiency and opened doors to many new business opportunities. With an ‘always on’, fast and effective Internet connection, Mission Gallery are now exploiting the many benefits Broadband can bring to a business.
Mission Gallery is an independent art gallery situated in Swansea’s Maritime Quarter. This unique space hosts a challenging programme of contemporary visual art – painting, installation, photography and craft. The gallery’s Craft Space has a changing display of contemporary glass, ceramics, jewellery and textiles by artists and designers from the UK.
Some months ago, Mission Gallery identified their need for a more permanent Internet connection that would enable them to; use email more effectively and research new products and markets online. With hands-on advice support provided by Joanne Brookman of the Swansea Bay IT Support Centre, Mission Gallery began to plan their ICT Strategy.
Since installation, the Broadband connection has been an integral part of Mission Gallery’s operation. Other ‘Broadband Baggage’ has brought many benefits to the organisation in terms of communication and marketing, such as; the ability to send and receive email without dialling up, speedy downloads from the Internet whilst carrying out research and keeping the company telephone line available in the process. Mission Gallery are now exploring other ICT opportunities to take the business forward such as website development and email marketing. With intentions to update and maintain the website in-house, Broadband will prove invaluable.
