The Scheme
The Opportunity Wales scheme is designed to help SME’s with their Internet and eCommerce needs. The Swansea Bay IT Support Centre is tasked with delivering this scheme to businesses in the Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot areas.
Since April 2004 more than 3000 businesses, across Wales, have used our review, advice and support services resulting in 464 new jobs and an increase in turnover of over £53 million. Since our inception in April 2001 more than 9000 businesses have used our services.
The scheme provides for well-qualified, IT advisers to visit clients and review their current business needs in relation to the Internet and eCommerce. These meetings, which often take around 2 hours, will result in a detailed review that will offer clients a proposed approach on how they can make the most of Internet and eCommerce Technologies.
In many cases clients have taken advantage of our subsidised consultancy days, which allow our eCommerce advisers to work with businesses to achieve their eCommerce goals. In practically every case, clients who have taken out consultancy days have seen an excellent return on their investment.
